SPOTS
videos are more than just films of the shows!
We've made videos of every show we've done. Early productions were shot using the SVHS analogue format and edited using traditional linear edit suites to produce VHS tapes. Today we film using digital video and edit on PC based non-linear software to produce DVDs. Tony Squire films each show using two cameras. One static taking in the whole stage and the second manually operated to track the close up action. The source material is then loaded onto PC by Tony and Phil Howard and the editing begins. |

In addition to the show videos, SPOTS regulars will remember the many video sequences we've used as part of the performance. These are also created digitally, but use a far greater degree of technology. Images are often first created with animation (thanks to Gary King for being a wiz in that department). Phil will then chromakey (blue screen) images of people and other objects on top. Lots of layers of video together with resizing and moving around the screen gives the finished result. |
